Great review, what do you think would be a great high-end compact if money was not an issue?

Nice to reed, I agree with allen. I own both camera's, there is no camera witch give me such a trill. Of course, my Canon 5D mark II has more possibilities, but the results even with very good primes, no the Sigma is the winner. It is more film like. I use the DP1 on hikes, where I have no problem what so ever about the speed. Maybe the only thing I regret is why the Sigma DP has not begun with a 35 mm. But this is absolute the best compact you can buy, if you take the time. I do not own one camera without a spare battery, how good the battery is, it dies on you when you do not want it. So buy a spare battery.

Any ideas anybody?

Nice pics.

I shoot with an FM and a few prime lenses, so the simple (and idiosyncratic) DP-2 with a core feature set that replicates the strengths of this all manual camera is really attractive.

I think the only thing holding me back from scooping one up yesterday are the rumours of a DP-3 with possibly improved Foveon sensor, possibly interchangeable lens mount, possibly improved AF, but no mention of improving that LCD. These things were mentioned by the DP-2 design team themselves in a DP-2 special in 'Asahi Camera' magazine.
