This is a review of the much-anticipated Sigma DP2 compact camera that was released in May, 2009.

I hope to make it clear in both broad strokes and in great detail why this camera is: revolutionary, a hopeful sign of things to come, a success, and a big steaming pile of compromises.

Please read on for the full review.

Epson Stylus Pro 7900/9900 Review

Continuing his favorite theme of “Toys That You’ll Never Be Able to Afford”, Michael Reichmann at The Luminous Landscape has put up a review of Epson’s latest and greatest top-of-the-line large-format printers.

Click on through to check out his impressions (hint: they’re incredible) and to see what kind of printing hardware you can buy for a cool $5,000.

One notable omission in this review is the cost of inks, although I suppose for a photographer in his position that becomes less of a concern; truly, if a printer that costs more than most people’s first car is on your grocery list then you aren’t likely to be fretting over a difference of a few dollars per print in ink costs.  Given that he has written some rather detailed posts in the past on this subject however, I am somewhat surprised that it doesn’t even get a mention.
